Canon 5D Mark III's Rumors

There are some rumors which has decorated some sites and heaved to our hearings that Canon 5D Mark III will be  launched in the early 2012. Let's see the rumors.

Canon 5D Mark III

Some rumors mention that the 5D Mark III will not be a crazy high megapixel camera.

Canon 5D Mark III Announcement

Barring another manufacturing problem in Asia, count on the Canon 5D Mark III being announced around the end of March or early April 2012.

Availability will probably happen before the summer begins in 2012. No specs were given at this time. This is a very solid [CR2]
The NAB show is April 14-19 in Las Vegas

Specs

There are two different information put the camera above 30mp. There is more than one sensor being put through the paces. It will not have a pro AF system. It was suggested by one person that the AF will actually be a lesser version of the 7D auto focus system. The camera would not have a crazy frame per second rating, something in the 3-4fps range like the current 5D Mark II. It will be equipped with the DIGIC 5+ processor and be aimed at high megapixel/high ISO performance. The 5D Mark III will not be the 4K Cinema EOS prototype Canon previously announced was in development. There were no details given about the video functionality of the camera.

Most everyone is saying do not expect an announcement until at least March when the 1D X should be shipping. Announcement dates can always change though. It may depend on what Nikon does with the D800.

Canon 5D Mark III Information

The rumors also mentioned that a 5D Mark III will be aimed at “cleaning up” the DSLR video market. It will complement the 1 series video DSLR mentioned at the recent Hollywood Cinema EOS presentation.

The camera will be no more than 18mp. It was mentioned not to expect a big mp camera from Canon in the immediate future.
